Creator Shop upgrades and gear
Buy cameras first, then lighting, then the next camera tier; treat render upgrades as optional until your gear is comfortable, and leave cosmetics to the VIP Creator pass.
Upgrades in Become a Youtuber! are sold in the in-game Creator Shop, and they all do the same thing in different amounts: they raise what your next video earns. The trap is buying an upgrade that looks like progress and moves nothing.
What the Creator Shop sells
| Type | What it changes | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Cameras | The core income tier — better cameras raise earnings per video | First |
| Lighting / studio gear | Cheaper per step, adds a steady slice to what uploads earn | Second |
| Editing and render gear | Shortens the wait between videos, so you upload more often | Third |
| Themes, icons, banners | How your channel looks — cosmetic | Last (VIP Creator unlocks them all) |
| Staff and automation | Keeps videos moving while you are away from the desk | When videos queue up |
Prices scale steeply. Early gear costs pocket money, mid-game upgrades cost what a good upload earns, and the late tiers are the reason players chase sponsor money and live-stream donations.
The upgrade test
Before you buy anything, look at your money per hour on the stats board. Buy. Look again.
- Moved up? Buy the next tier of the same category.
- Barely moved? You are at the ceiling of that category — switch to the next one in the priority list.
- Moved down? You spent money you needed for the next real tier. Stop and rebuild cash flow.
Which upgrade to buy first
Cameras. Every other income path in the game is measured against what a video earns, and the camera is that number. Lighting is the cheap follow-up — it costs less than a lens tier and applies to every upload.
The one situation where you skip gear is when videos are already queueing faster than you can film them. That is the signal to spend on editors instead, because at that point your bottleneck is time, not quality.
Upgrades that look better than they are
Themes and channel cosmetics. They are lovely and they never earn a cent. If you like them, the VIP Creator pass at 399 R$ gives you every theme, icon and banner in one purchase instead of paying per item.
The first render-speed upgrade. It feels great and it changes very little until your upload timer is the thing capping your income. Buy it after the camera tier you can afford, not before.
Anything bought immediately after a loss. If a video flops your first instinct is to spend; that is exactly when you should be uploading twice more to see whether the trend moved.
When you cannot afford the next tier
There are three honest answers, in order:
- Upload more. Money is views; views are uploads.
- Take the sponsor offer. A single brand deal can pay for a tier that would otherwise take an hour.
- Go live. Donations arrive without spending an upload slot — see the live streaming guide.
Do not sell progress to fund a purchase, and do not buy cosmetics while an income tier is one upload away.
Common shop questions
Does gear reset? No. Upgrades are permanent on your channel.
Is the most expensive item always the right buy? No. The right buy is the one that moves money per hour, and after a point the cheap tiers of the next category move it more.
Should I buy passes or gear? Gear first. Passes multiply the loop you already have — a multiplier on nothing is still nothing. The passes page has the order most players use.
