Become a Youtuber Guide

Sponsor offers and brand deals

Quick answer

Take sponsor offers when they beat what you would earn in the same time, spend the money immediately on gear, and never skip an upload to chase a brand deal.

Sponsor offers are the lump-sum money in Become a Youtuber!. A brand asks for a place in your next video, you accept or skip, and the cash lands with the upload.

How a sponsor offer works

Offers arrive as a popup: a brand name, a product, and a number. Accept it and the brand is attached to your next upload. Skipping it costs nothing — the video goes out either way.

Offer sizeTypical stageWhat to do
Small (hundreds)First hourAccept everything, it funds your first gear
Mid (thousands)Your first real audiencesAccept if the money beats your per-hour rate
LargeEstablished channelAccept, but check what the placement costs you

Judging an offer properly

Compare the offer against what the next hour of normal play would earn you. If the brand deal pays more than your ad revenue for the same time, it is free money. If it distracts you from riding a trend, it is not.

Three rules that hold:

  • Take offers you can spend immediately. Money in a balance does nothing; money in a camera tier compounds.
  • Do not chase brands at the cost of trends. A viral lane pays more over an hour than one big cheque usually does.
  • Do not refuse early offers to "wait for a better one". Early offers are small because your channel is small — and they are still the fastest funding for the next upgrade.

Where sponsor money goes

Straight into the upgrade queue:

  1. Next camera tier
  2. Lighting if it has been neglected
  3. Editors, if videos are queuing faster than you film
  4. Nothing cosmetic — the VIP Creator pass covers cosmetics wholesale

The money guide has the arithmetic, and the upgrades guide has the buy order.

Can a brand deal go wrong? Only by wasting time. There is no long-term penalty for the placement that we have seen — the trade is time and video quality, not reputation.

Are offers random? They scale with your channel. Grow the channel and the numbers grow with it.

Should I take a sponsor and skip the video? No. Offers are attached to uploads; skipping the upload wastes both.
